MOTH Fixed Gear
Up for trade for select luxury timepieces for men (namely, Tag Heuer or Rolex).
Rare chance to own a piece of NYC biking history! This one can’t be found anywhere else online or in person!
Up for sale is my super hard-to-find MOTH fixed gear bike. Made and manufactured in NYC, the frame was originally sold at the legendary Bike Works store in LES. Messengers throughout the city adopted this frame because of its geometry and price.
Speaking of which, the exalted aluminum frame has some minor everyday wear and tear - but nothing major - and has been lovingly cared for and regularly maintained by the kind folks over at Ride Brooklyn in Park Slope.
Medium-sized for 5'3-5'7".
I’ve decked it out with only the highest quality components, including:
- SRAM Omnium crankset with CHRIS KING Threadfit bottom bracket (CERAMIC bearings!)
Cane Creek Headset
3T Carbon Fork
H Plus Son Formation wheelset
Can be set to fixed or freewheel (currently set on fixed); Cane Creek front wheel handbrake
Front wheel laced to Phi Wood Track Front Hub; Rear with Origin8 Hub
Brand new Gatorskin hardshell (23mm) front and rear tires and 18T cog and lockring
Giant Riser handlebars with new Lizard Skins Lock-on Grips
Bontrager RXL Stem
Thomson Elite 27.2mm Seatpost
New Fizik Saddle (not pictured)
(Note: chain has been replaced with a new KMC black chain after pictures were taken)
Be the envy of every bike shop you step into with this rare gem! Customers and employees alike have always regarded it with a sort of hushed reverence wherever I’ve taken it.
Being sold as COMPLETE only for $1,500 - the parts alone are worth more than my asking price. This is an exceedingly rare piece of NYC history and I therefore will only accept reasonable offers. Pickup in Brooklyn only (by F/G Carroll Street station); can also be delivered within Brooklyn.
